Aligning with the Goals and Criteria of Sacred Heart Schools, Edgewater Kids United offers an enriching environment for neighborhood children.  The primary goal of the program is allowing children to be known and loved for who they are.

Position: Edgewater Kids United Assistant

Responsibilities:

1) This position will be responsible for intentional, strategic and frequent involvement with local middle and high school students on a weekly basis

2) Develop and maintain a strong professional and supportive relationship with each youth in the program,

3) Establish good working relationships and effective lines of communication with all college coaches and mentors-in-training.

4) Work closely with staff to provide a safe and orderly environment for all children in the program.

5) Monitor, record, and report student’s attendance and update data weekly.

6) Performs other duties as assigned.

  • Must be reliable, prompt, and have a friendly demeanor.

Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree in education/social work or related field and at least two to three years of related experience required.
  • Proficient computer skills: including database management and a working knowledge of Microsoft Word.

This position would be 5-6 hours a week (on Fridays from 3pm-9pm) in order to assist with weekly preparations and on-site program supervision.  Ideally this assistant would be someone from within the SHS adult community, as this will provide the level of responsibility and professionalism needed for this role.
