About Edgewater Kids United
- Aligning with the Goals and Criteria of Sacred Heart Schools, Edgewater Kids United offers an enriching environment for neighborhood children. The primary goal of the program is allowing children to be known and loved for who they are.
Responsibilities:
- Develop and maintain relationships with EKU students via conversations, athletic games, and activities.
- Checking students in, serving food/drinks during dinner, and maintaining the gym.
- Work closely with staff to provide a safe and orderly environment for all children in the program.
Successful Coaches will be:
- Experienced working with youth, particularly those from marginalized backgrounds.
- Interested in serving the local and Chicago communities.
- Positive role models for youth.
- Flexible, and team-oriented, as well as comfortable working individually.
- Serve as a role model to all students and be accessible and knowledgeable.
- Can respect the agency of pre/adolescents while guiding them towards growth.
- Be equally committed to all students.
Requirements:
- Must have at least a High School Diploma.
- Experience working with teens.
This position would be 5-6 hours a week (on Fridays from 4pm-9pm) in order to assist with weekly preparations and on-site program supervision. Ideally the coach would be someone from within the SHS adult community, as this will provide the level of responsibility and professionalism needed for this role.
