School Description

Founded in Chicago in 1876, Sacred Heart Schools at Sheridan Road (Hardey Preparatory for Boys and Academy of the Sacred Heart for Girls) are independent, Catholic, single-sex elementary schools committed to academic excellence on a co-ed campus. The educational mission is deeply rooted in the 200-year tradition of the Society of the Sacred Heart and shared with the Network of Sacred Heart Schools located in 30 countries; including 25 schools in the United States and Canada. The essence of this tradition is the total development of each child: spiritual, intellectual, social, emotional and physical. Our girls and boys are taught in single-sex classrooms, but follow a similar curriculum and share in many activities. With a total enrollment of approximately 520 students, the Schools are organized into three academic divisions each led by a division head.

Position Description

Sacred Heart is looking for a friendly, detail-oriented person to join our four-person admissions team. A successful team member will be a self-starter who enjoys collaboration. They will have the ability to tackle many different types of tasks with diplomacy and confidentiality. The role is an integral, respected part of school life and an opportunity to become part of a vibrant and caring community.

The Admissions Office, together with the offices of Marketing and Communications, make up Sacred Heart Schools’ Department of Enrollment Management. The Enrollment Management team works collaboratively to build understanding and support of the Schools’ mission and programs, to invite families to join the school, and to secure resources to enhance the Schools and ensure its future. Collectively and individually, the team strives to model the values expressed in the Goals and Criteria of Sacred Heart education.

Essential Job Functions:

Prospective Family Outreach 

  • Proactively moves prospective families through the admissions process

  • Manages a high volume of email and telephone contact with prospective families and responds to questions and requests promptly and professionally

Event Coordination

  • Manages the set-up, execution, and follow-up to events for prospective and new families, including but not limited to: Admissions Coffees, onboarding events, and yield events

  • Support the school’s Student Ambassador program through selection of students, training of tour guides, and communication with students and parents

  • Coordinates recruitment at school fairs, ensuring the school is well-represented at all events related to staffing and marketing materials

Administrative Support and Information Management

  • Contributes to the upkeep and maintenance of admission files Enrollment Management to track, process, evaluate, and select prospective students and families

  • Collects necessary documentation and maintains accurate applicant records

  • Manages the admissions calendar including scheduling prospective family appointments and visits

Qualifications: 

 
  • Bachelor’s degree required

  • Experience working in an Admissions or school environment is preferred

  • Strong command of Microsoft Office, Google Suite required; some experience working with Blackbaud’s Core and Enrollment Management, and Finalsite preferred

  • Strong interpersonal and problem-solving skills and the ability to exercise appropriate independent judgment

  • Must work occasional evenings and weekends

Pay Range: $42,000 - $52,000
Based on qualifications, experience, and skills.
